Dana W. Reed
Dana Reed is a founding partner, who is now of counsel to the firm. He has practiced political law since 1975. He has been involved in California state and local politics and government all his adult life. Currently, he is an elected member of the Indian Wells City Council and served as its Mayor in 2016 and 2022. He is also a member of the Riverside County Transportation Commission, having served as Chairman in 2018, and he served as Chairman of the Coachella Valley Association of Governments’ Executive Committee in 2016 – 2017. Dana has served in many senior government positions including Chairman of the California Transportation Commission, Undersecretary of Business, Transportation and Housing and Deputy State Controller. Previously, he served as a member of the Orange County Transportation Authority and Chairman of its predecessor agency, the Orange County Transportation Commission. Dana was a member of the Secretary of State’s Electronic Filing Task Force.
Dana is a long-time member of the American Association of Political Consultants and past President of the organization’s Western Chapter covering the states of California, Nevada, Arizona, Oregon, Washington, Alaska, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Utah, Idaho and Hawaii.
In addition, Reed represents Riverside County on the Los Angeles-San Diego Rail Corridor Agency and is the immediate past President of that organization. He is a past president of the Riverside County Division of Cal Cities (formerly known as the League of California Cities) and currently represents Riverside County on the CalCities state Board of Directors. He is also a member of the Legislation Committee of the California Contract Cities Association.
